DC Motor Output

rory and i put together a DC stepper motor circuit from the following diagram and were spinning the motor by hand. we placed a super bright LED at the end of the circuit in order to see something. after hooking it up to an oscilliscope, and not having much luck with the reading, we turned to an electric drill to spin the motor, and got a reading of about 11.5v on a multimeter.
